See How our Athletes are Performing

Maddie’s initial squat was a 135Ibs quarter squat. Recently she hit 325Ibs in her last meet just two years later. Her Bench has gone from 100Ibs to 165Ibs, her deadlift has increased from 25Ibs all the way to 402Ibs

Congratulations to our athlete Jayla Thompson on an absolutely PERFECT meet performance!!
This marked Jayla’s FIRST meet with us at SLA, and her return to the platform after 10 years away from competing. From the start, she came in ready to work and already had a meet day set. She stayed consistent, and fully trusted the process and every adjustment we made along the way which is what contributed to such huge wins on the platform when her meet rolled around.
We kicked things off with squats, her strong suit, and she set the tone right away going 3 for 3 🔥
And not only that, but she finished with a MASSIVE 140 kg (309 lbs) third attempt that moved beautifully!! Just a couple of months ago, she was repping out 155 lbs… and now she’s a 300+ lb back squatter. That kind of progress is nothing short of legendary 🔥
Next came bench press. She was locked in with her commands and stayed consistent across all three attempts, finishing with a strong 75 kg (165 lbs) third attempt.
That’s around a 30+ lb increase from the last time she tested her bench 1RM, which really highlights the hard work that she put in over her 3 month long prep for this meet. Then came deadlifts. We spent a lot of time building her baseline and dialing in her form when she first started, where she was repping out 175 lbs to start. Fast forward to meet day, and her second attempt absolutely FLEW, so we made the call to bump her up to 132.5 kg (292 lbs)… and she CRUSHED IT 🔥 Such an amazing end to an already incredible day 💪
She finished the day with a PERFECT 9 for 9 which was our goal, and it really couldn’t have gone any better. This meet was such a testament to Jayla’s hard work, resilience, and trust in the process. We are SO proud of you ❤️
We are so excited to see what is in store for Jayla next!!

Congratulations to our athlete Abbey Wineglass on an absolutely incredible meet performance!!
This marked Abbey’s SECOND meet with us at SLA, and the growth we’ve seen already has been unreal. From the start of prep, she showed up ready to work, stayed consistent, and trusted every adjustment we made along the way as we adjusted her training. That trust is exactly what led to such a big day on the platform.
We kicked things off with squats and Abbey set the tone right away going 3 for 3 🔥 And not only that, but she also added 20 kg to her squat, finishing with a HUGE 140 kg third attempt. That kind of progress is nothing short of legendary and a true reflection of the work she’s been putting in behind the scenes.
Next came bench, Abbey’s strong suit. While things didn’t go quite as planned here, this is part of the sport. Fatigue from squats was a bit high, her first attempt at 80 kg had a slight sink which led to a longer pause, and she just couldn’t quite lock in her second and third at weights she’s moved BEAUTIFULLY in training.

Sometimes it’s just not there on the day and that’s okay. We take it, we learn, and we come back even stronger.
Then came deadlifts and we knew there was something BIG coming, the day just called for it. Her first and second attempts absolutely FLEW, so we made the call to bump her third from 150 kg to 152.5 kg… and she CRUSHED IT 🤯🔥
She finished the day with a 372.5 kg total, which is a 25 kg increase from her last meet and an INSANE 87.5 kg increase since starting with SLA.
This meet ended in absolute ecstasy and was such a testament to Abbey’s work ethic, resilience, and trust in the process. We are SO proud of you Abbey ❤️
Now it’s time to lock in for the off season and keep building…
It’s only up from here. Let’s go put in some WORK 🔥💪

Congratulations to She Lifts Academy Athlete Melissa Smith who competed a few months ago in her first bikini show. Melissa is an incredible resilient athlete. This prep was nothing but a testament to her work ethic and will power. Despite many bumps in the road, Melissa was able to still show up day in and day out to check off all the boxes.

It definitely paid off as she was able to take home both 1st place in true novice and first place in her open class. She was super close to winning the overall, missed it by just a smidge but we were able to get great feedback and will definitely be able to bring the changes necessary for next time❤️ Congratulations Melissa!!

Congratulations to nutrition only athlete Elsa who competed end of October in the RPS Power Challenge.
Elsa ended up going 8/9 on her lifting putting up some solid numbers on squat bench and deadlift.
Since we coached Elsa solely in nutrition, that’s what I want this recap to be focused on. 🩷
When Elsa first joined our program we worked a lot towards building up her maintenance and getting her to a number that was complimentary to her strength goals making sure we fueled well going into her training sessions.
Once we established a solid baseline we were able to incorporate things like free meals to avoid feelings of restriction and increase flexibility with food.
From here we have decided to do a slight cut into her next meet coming up in December to get into the 145lbs class while preserving muscle and strength.
The goal will be to keep cals as high as possible so we can make sure she is well fueled going into her next meet.
Follow along to watch Elsa’s progress and cheer for her at her next meet 🥳 Congratulations on a great meet performance

Idalia Higuera who competed end of June in her fit model debut
Since fit model is a new division, Idalia was our very first @she_lifts_academy fit model athlete c
The introduction of the fit model division has been really cool to watch because it provides an entry level category with a look that is really feminine and very naturally attainable which leads me into Idalia's transformation and story about her journey to the stage.
When Idalia first came into our program she was 127lbs, hip thrusting 160lbs for her heaviest weight, and it was a struggle for me to get her to eat more than 1200cals (5 I'm sure she will laugh when she reads this story because I am smiling just writing it
After many pep talks we were able to reframe her mindset that smaller isn't always better, being strong is badass and we have to eat to fuel our body from a place of nourishment in order to grow and shape our physique.
If you walked into a gym today and met Idalia you would never know this is where she started out because now she maintains above 2000cals, hip thrusts 425lbs (for reps g3)), and had the confidence
to showcase her hard work on the bodybuilding stage
Walking away with a national qualification her first show was no accident. A lot of work and rebuilding of a very solid foundation went into this. It's been amazing to watch the glow up (inside and outside).

Congratulations to our athlete Katie on an incredible first meet performance!
From day one, Katie has shown what true dedication looks like - she gives her all to every training session, her nutrition is always on point, and she has trusted the process every step of the way. All of that hard work came full circle when she stepped onto the platform for the very first time.
She went 8 for 9, with only a single missed bench due to a dip in the bar on her third attempt after a warm-up miscalculation - an easy fix for next time. But even that couldn’t overshadow the massive numbers she put up.
Katie opened the day strong with a 115 kg (253.5 lb) squat that moved beautifully. On bench, she locked in a smooth 60 kg (132.3 lb) and we both know there’s more to come there. Then came deadlifts... and we knew this was where she’d shine. We came in with one goal: to break 300 lbs.Come meet day, she made 137.5 kg (303 Ib) look effortless, with plenty left in the tank to work towards in her off season.
Stepping onto the platform for the first time can rattle even the best, but Katie handled every attempt like a seasoned competitor. Her calm focus, attention to detail, consistent effort, and fierce drive has made it very clear that she is built for this sport. It has been a joy to watch Katie’s progress, and everything has led up to this moment. She truly embodies the phrase, “you do not yield” ❤️‍🔥
This is just the beginning. The foundation is strong, and the numbers are only going up from here. So proud of you, Katie!!
Now let’s keep pushing🔥💪

Congratulations to Lauren Fergusen who competed in her very first bodybuilding show this past weekend
Lauren did an amazing job with her first prep adhering to the protocol each day to a tee.
She is an incredibly hard worker. We were able to keep calories high and cardio low for the majority of prep never dropping below 1400cal or exceeding 45min of cardio Fa as a result strength numbers were able to stay very high and muscle retention was very solid. Even the last week before the show Lauren was still repping 225lbs on hip thrust, shoulder pressing the 45s and doing Bulgarian split squats with 110lbs C
Lauren worked extremely hard and her hard work paid off taking home 1st place in both true novice and novice, an overall in novice, along with 2nd place in open and a national qualification in her very first show.
Lauren will now be moving into an off season with the goal of putting more size on glutes and shoulders with the goal of competing again in 2027.

Sydney’s offseason and prep started with a very clear goal, bench 200lbs. Sydney was faced with an aggressive amount of chest and tricep work, combined with enough food to go up a notch on the belt. As prep went on, a new consideration hit—Jr nationals. Sydney’s (generous) projected total put her right on track to make the cut, but projections aren’t reality.
As the meet closed in, the new qualifying totals dropped, and the mission became clear…Sydney can make Jr. nationals, PR everything, and walk away with 5-10kg in the total, how bold. Turns out, nothing about our projections were bold. Sydney crushed this meet and some.
Sydney finished with a 137.5kg squat, a 100kg bench and a 170kg deadlift. She walked away tying for first place in the weight class (technically second due to weight but 🤫). She qualified for Jr. nationals by nearly 20kg; set a 52.5kg total PR 🤯, left a good 5-10kg in the tank and got to compete for a first place finish that came down to the final lift of the whole meet.
We are so unbelievably proud of the work Sydney puts in and can’t wait for Jr. Nationals. Let’s all extend our hands for a firm shake and congratulate Sydney on what may be one of the best platform appearances we have seen from an athlete at SLA.
